ABOUT CHRIS HATLEY

Lieutenant Colonel (retired) Christopher Hatley was born and raised a seventh-generation Texan in Dallas, the Greatest State of Texas.

In 1975, he enlisted in the United States Army and left home for Fort Dix, New Jersey, where he completed Basic Combat Training. He gained acceptance to the United States Military Academy Preparatory School at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. Then, Hatley earned his appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. Upon graduating from the Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, he received a commission in the field artillery. He served for over 26 years in the United States Army.

Chris Hatley’s career included assignments at various duty stations across the United States and overseas. He served with combat units, trained officers and enlisted personnel, or held general staff positions. His final assignment was as the Inspector General for the Joint Readiness Training Center (Airborne) and Fort Polk, Louisiana.

His military schools include the Field Artillery Cannon Battery Officer Basic Course, the Field Artillery Officer Advanced Course, the Infantry Officer Advanced Course, the Combined Arms and Services Staff School, and the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

Colonel Hatley’s awards and decorations include Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal (with six oak leaf clusters), Army Commendation Medal (with oak leaf cluster), Army Achievement Medal (with five oak leaf clusters), Air Force Superior Unit Award, and Parachutist Badge.

Chris attends Brenham Church of Christ and is a life member in the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Hatley is also a life member of the National Rifle Association, Texas State Rifle Association, and the Texas Nationalist Movement.

He is running for Congress in Texas’s 27th district. Early voting starts Tuesday, February 17th, 2026!
